A Word About Our Recommissioning

Meredith and I thank all of you who have written or tweeted us to express your joy and excitement about the upcoming recommissioning (please see the July update if you haven’t already done so). A number of you have even inquired about the possibility of being there to witness it in person! Please know that we are truly humbled to know that you care so much about what God is doing in and for us!

However, we want to discourage anyone who would not otherwise be in attendance at the campmeeting from trying to make the long and perhaps expensive trip to rural western Pennsylvania just for this singular service. Here’s why:

The recommissioning will be a brief segment during a worship service at the annual campmeeting of the National Association of the Church of God. During that segment, our restoration team will briefly share their thoughts and convictions about the process they’ve overseen, our marriage, my spiritual/emotional health, and my suitability to continue ministering to others. They and selected pastors will also lay hands on and pray for us. I will give brief remarks at some point during this segment, but I will not be the speaker for the service. So again, we would discourage anyone from making a special trip just for such a brief event.

However, I plan to request that the recommissioning segment be included in the DVD recording of the worship service. If that request is granted, anyone interested in ordering a DVD will be able to do so and receive it via mail. I hope to provide ordering information in the next update.

Again, thanks so much for your enthusiastic support of what the Lord is doing. To God be the glory!

Thanks and blessings,
Pastor Paul
